IAP Honors Top Performing Teams 2012 With Eagle Awards
Cape Canaveral, FL – IAP Worldwide Services, Inc. recently recognized its ten top-performing teams with Gold Eagle Awards. The annual Eagle Awards honor IAP personnel at projects around the world who meet and exceed both their customer’s objectives and IAP’s performance goals. Projects are selected based on criteria including commitment to success; project management and procurement; environmental, safety and health, quality and customer satisfaction; and community participation.
IAP President J. Spencer “Spence” Wickham, who announced the awards, said, “My thanks go to every employee on each Gold Eagle project team. Our Eagle achievers teach us all how we can truly deliver excellence for our customers when we put best practices and innovative thinking into action. They are valuable contributors to our success as a company, and I feel privileged to serve with them.”
Among the award-winning teams were projects that provide support to domestic and overseas military installations, including airfields and forward operating bases in war zones. Also represented among the winners were projects that assist high-profile federal agencies and offices.
The Gold Eagle teams found innovative ways of saving the customer money and consistently came in within their budgets. They leveraged the expertise and site experience of team members to provide creative and rapid solutions to any unanticipated challenges their projects presented. Communication channels with the customer were open and improvements and best practices based on feedback were instituted. Most importantly, the safety record of each team clearly demonstrated that safety was their top priority.
Here are a just a few highlights of individual teams’ successes:
- An air traffic control project at an airfield in Afghanistan maintained a 99 percent up rate for air traffic control and landing system equipment, above the minimum acceptance level specified in the contract.
- A power project at a forward operating base in a war zone was able to coordinate with the power supply equipment provider to make changes to their equipment settings. This allowed the project to properly coordinate protection settings, ensuring that any power outages remain localized and do not affect multiple circuits.
- A federal agency project enlisted the support of IAP’s corporate Quality team to develop needed process changes in throughput, quality and customer services. After carefully analyzing old processes, the project was able to create a process flow that eliminated unnecessary steps and decreased the defect rate.
